SYD Tambour Beading Level 3 One to one private Class . Must have completed Tambour Levels 1 & 2 This lesson continues from theTambour Level 2 beading class. Developing the chain stitch using metallic thread filling leaves with backstitch to emulate satin stitch. The real challenge in the class is learning filling in techniques. Vermicelli in small seed beads, used to fill in small spaces tightly or sporadically. Freehand Cornelli, used to fill in larger spaces and in various configurations will give you different density of beading. 1920’s beading used these beading techniques often. Finally flat sequin vermicelli, using 3mm sequins to give a delicate and glossy look to background beading. Karen teaches the French Tambour Beading method also known as Crochet de Luneville. This is the technique used in Haute Couture Embroidery in Paris. The Tambour hook is used to embroider chain stitches and attach beads onto fabric that is stretched as tight as a drum over a square embroidery frame. Beads are strung onto a working spool of thread and the beading is worked from the wrong side of the fabric. Beads are moved up the thread with one hand and then stitched on in a crochet motion making a chain stitch after each bead. Skill Level: Tambour Enthusiasts Cost includes Tuition & Kit.
