3-dimensional sequin flowers made their debut in the 1960’s and have adorned countless haute couture fashion looks since. You can add them to customise dance costumes, bridal gowns, formal dresses, evening wear, children’s wear & millinery. And once learned correctly they are an effective way to adorn garments quickly.
Create a beaded purse panel. Using a needle, you will create flowers in all shapes, sizes and configurations of sequins, crystals, and beads. Design & mark making details, Stacking, folding, taping, colour gradation will give you a rich and couture result.
 
Students Requirements List
1 medium roller tapestry frame approx. size 38cm x 30 cm
2 x quick grip clamps to hold frame to the table.
0.5 metres of calico or calico lacings
An assortment of colours of polyester threads.
Embroidery Scissors
Fabric scissors
Hand Sewing needles
Magnifying glasses and table lamp.
Extension cord 3mtrs

2 x meters x 3cm cotton webbing for side lacings
2 x quick grip clamp 15” Irwin brand

Bead embroidery on flat fabric 
Starting and finishing techniques
Using a needle, you will create scrolls, shaped and flowers in the following techniques: satin stitch, couching, single seed bead anchor, running stitch, whip stitch sequin rope-work and single bead stitch, loop work, flat & raised sequin flowers.
Finish and frame as an artwork or use to make an evening bag.
